"Playing the Numbers Game"
Winning at most levels is just a matter of returning one more ball back over the net. Keep this in mind when you begin your match. It's usually not a matter of hitting 8-10 shots but more like 3-5 shots a point. This is not as easy as it sounds because very often players would rather lose hitting the ball hard and a few winners than to win by getting the ball back. However, if you learn this strategy first you will be more successful and you can always and quickly add the power. So just get the ball back one more time and win one more match!

What you should know about tennis strings!
A good rule to follow is to have your racket strung in a year as often as you play in a week. For example if you play three times a week you should have your racket re-strung at least three times during a year. Here's why: *Strings will lose their tension and playability over time.
*Correct tension will give you more control.
*Tension can effect your power and help prevent elbow and shoulder injuries.

There are also many different types of strings with different playing and durability characteristics. Stop by the shop or see a pro to learn more about strings.
